Is it possible to become pregnant, but the pregnancy doesnt go through and your period starts late?

I have been trying to concieve, but every time I end up getting my period. Lately, I have light spotting for like 3-4 days before it starts and it is usually late? Could my body be rejecting the pregnancy?

Is it possible to become pregnant, but the pregnancy doesnt go through and your period starts late?say yes

YES! I experienced this last month which really stinks because we were so excited! I had two positive pregnancy tests and then, I tested again in a couple of days (for some weird reason, I just retested) and it came back negative. I then purchased 3 other name brands and they were all negative. Talk about a downer for us! I went to the doctor and he confirmed it was a chemical pregnancy which actually happens in around 50% of early pregnancy. Most of the time, ladies don't even realize that they are having a mc...they just think they are having their period a few days late. Sources on the internet contribute this to the fact that so many pregnancy tests will tell you even before your expected period, if you are pregnant or not. So, you can literally have the HCG hormone in your urine stream but the embryo hasn't technically implanted yet into your uterus. My doctor suggested progesterone for me because it helps to thicken your uterine lining. That doesn't mean that was what was wrong last time but he said it never hurts to be sure!

Sorry you experienced this too. If you are doing this frequently, you may consult your doctor and see if they can help you out.

Best of luck.

This happen to me once. It was a chemical pregnancy. It is so common. I had two + prego tests, and then when I got to the doctor they had a +, and a - reading (I had a pee test, and a blood test). I went back at the end of the week it was a -. It sucked so bad, cause we got excited about a possible baby.
Yes, it's completely possible... it's called a chemical pregnancy.

Constant very, early miscarriages are often linked to low progesterone levels. If you suspect this has happened to you more than once lately, go to your doctor and have your progesterone level checked. If progesterone is the problem, it's an easy fix and with treatment you 'll be sure to go full term the next time.

Good luck!
Yes its a chemical pregnancy!!!

It is a pregnancy that has miscarried prior to the gestational sac becoming visible on an ultra sound. Pregnancies don’t show on an ultra sound until 5 or 6 weeks. At this point it is considered a “Clinical Pregnancy”. The names only refer to if they can or cannot see the sac with an ultra sound. Many doctors out there will tell you that it wasn’t real and it’s nothing to cry or grieve over. This is not true. A chemical pregnancy is a real pregnancy that was detected only by chemicals, not an ultrasound. It’s like that saying, “Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there”. So you got a positive pregnancy test… This means you did conceive! Pregnancy hormones just DON’T float around in your body and then “poof” they are gone. Pregnancy tests today are much more sensitive to the HCG hormone and can detect these early loses. Chemical pregnancies are unfortunately very common among woman. Around 50 to 60 percent of first pregnancies end in miscarriage, even without the woman knowing it.
